As part of our commitment to accessibility, we provide scholarships giving discounts to those with limited income and wealth. The discounted rates are on a sliding scale based on how much you can reasonably set aside per week.
Who the Scholarship Is For and Why
To help you better understand if the scholarship is appropriate for you, please consider that the cost of the Compassionate Activism program is $299, which would be a low price for a 2-day professional development program. If you participate in the program for a full year with the monthly Q&A sessions, then it adds up to just $12 per hour!
Since we offer a 3-month installment plan of $100 per month, we will use the guideline of having enough financial means to set aside $100 per month / $25 per week. This roughly equivalent to eating out at a nice restaurant once per week.
If you are unable to save $25 per week due to limited income, then this scholarship is for you. However, if that is something you can comfortably afford, then this scholarship is not intended for people with your financial means.
If you are reasonably able to save $25 per week and therefore are able to pay the full price, please do not take advantage of our honor system. We depend on people with enough financial means to pay the full price in order to subsidize those who have limited financial means.
We also ask that you select the highest amount you can reasonably pay in order to make it financially sustainable for us to grant larger scholarships to those who need it more.
Thank you again for your thoughtful use of this scholarship and helping make it possible for us to offer this program in a way that is both financially sustainable for us and accessible for people with limited financial means!
